Symphony of the Seas Cruise – Perfect for Families
My family recently experienced a 6-night cruise with Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas and I can safely say that a Symphony of the Seas cruise is perfect for families.
What is the makeup of your family? Do you have two adults and two children or one adult and two children? Whatever the size or makeup of your family, you will find something to do on board this huge and beautiful ship, which was not long ago the largest ship in the world.
You might have heard of the “neighborhoods” on Royal Caribbean Oasis Class ships. Neighborhoods are simply different places onboard ship for families to enjoy.
For example, you have a boardwalk with restaurants, a carousel (yes, at sea!), and an aqua-theater for stunning shows.
You also have Central Park, an actual area of the ship with live plants, restaurants, bars and relaxing seats.
There’s also the Royal Promenade, with eateries, bars, shops and more!
Those are only some examples of the “Neighborhoods” onboard Symphony of the Seas.
There are many other things to do, such as a sports area for your teens, kids’ clubs, pools, hot tubs, an adult only area, zipline, ice-skating, slides, surf simulator, etc. Do you see what I’ve done here? There’s simply too much to enjoy on Symphony of the Seas, a ship that is perfect for families.
In addition to all the glorious amenities, there is a wide selection of eateries. You may be familiar with the regular main dining rooms, specialty dining and buffet restaurant options on a cruise ship, but there is more…
If you wish for Mexican cuisine, there’s a place for that on Symphony of the Seas.
If you wish for Johnny Rockets, it is found on Symphony of the Seas – on the boardwalk.
If your kids are into hot dogs, there’s a separate place for that on the boardwalk.
Additionally, you can grab a sandwich and some sweets from the Promenade Cafe on the Royal Promenade or from Park Cafe in Central Park. There is pizza too on the Royal Promenade.
There’s food galore and then more! Everyone in your family will find something to eat and enjoy onboard Symphony of the Seas – perfect for families.
My favorite “mealtime” was “Caribbean Night”, when we were graced with dishes from the “islands” – particularly Jamaica. As an immigrant from Jamaica, this meant so much to me. I will even say the chef did a fabulous job with food preparation. It turns out that he is Jamaican!
Our cruise with Symphony of the Seas was for six nights out of Ft. Lauderdale, with stops in Labadee, Haiti; Falmouth, Jamaica; and Nassau, Bahamas. Depending on when you wish to sail, you will find itineraries with Symphony of Seas from Cape Liberty in New Jersey or Miami, Florida.
At the time of writing this post (May 2024), the ship is scheduled to offer cruises from Cape Liberty to the Caribbean throughout the summer. It will then re-position to Port Miami in November to offer itineraries to the Eastern and Western Caribbean.
